Realizing how leaving someone behind you – whether it was a friend or a loved one – was such a huge mistake!!

When I erased the memories that we had ..
When I broke all the promises that one day we made

Memories are like time machines. They have the power to bring you back to the past to remember who you used to be, what you used to love or hate, and how you felt toward different situations.
They’re a vital part of your present, and a great base to build your future on if you decided to keep them alive in the right way… Every memory leaves its trace in your life and only you can get the best of this trace and turn it into a winning card. Regardless the kind of this trace, whether it was cheerful, painful, motivational, or even disappointing you can shape it the way you want and let it work for your benefit.
Think of one cheerful memory you have in mind, remember how you felt back then, how you smiled and felt happy because of it. If you have that joyful memory that makes you forget about anything bad you’re facing once you recall it, keep recalling it every now and then to cheer you up and put you in a better mood to continue whatever you’re up to.
On the other hand, the painful memories can be so hard to forget, sometimes it seems to be impossible to block them out and get rid of their negative effect. But think for a moment why would you try so hard to erase them from your mind?! Is it because they bring along all the negative feelings you’ve been trying to avoid? Or because they remind you of something or someone you lost or had to let go in the past? Or maybe some other reasons. But whatever the reason you have behind wanting to forget these memories you probably shouldn’t do that!
Sophia Loren said once: “I’ve never tried to block out the memories of the past, even though some are painful. I don’t understand people who hide from their past. Everything you live through helps to make you the person you’re now.”
Painful moments are part of your life and as much as they may hurt so bad at a certain time, as much as they can change your life dramatically. Some people -after being faced with pain- try to get over it and continue their lives to prove to themselves that they’re stronger than the pain and that nothing can stop them or stand on their way, while some others just quit everything and surrender!
Memories of loss, failure, lack of confidence, disappointment, and pain can be a turning point in someone’s life; can make him/her think about changing their lives to the best after experiencing the worst.
A great motivation can arise from a previous bad situation that you had to face; it can make you realize that you still have so much to live for, so much to give, to learn and to prove..
Keep your painful memories alive! Keep them in front of you as reminders of what you used to be so they can push you forward to reach what you really want to be.
The failures you encountered before shall turn into successes, and the heartaches will make you stronger and give you a good idea about how to deal with them if they ever happened again in the future. If you keep a memory of a mistake in the back of your mind you’ll probably never repeat it again. If you keep a memory of something motivational, something that fills your soul with the willing to work you’ll probably jump off your feet and go out to do something unfortettable.
Never forget, everything happens for a reason. Not to put you down, but to wake you up. So, stay alarmed and don’t miss the call …
